The uses for vinegar are many, and some new use is always being found. These are just some that can be used at home for our daily chores: Clean windows by using a mixture of water and vinegar. Dampen a cloth with vinegar to remove stains from chrome and stainless steel. Wipe shower walls and door with vinegar-soaked cloth to remove and prevent mildew and mold from growing. Use water and vinegar to rinse glasses and dishes to remove film and spots. Add vinegar instead of water to the coffee maker and run the cycle. Then add plain water and run through cycle again to rinse. Will remove buildup of scale. To remove scale from teakettle, add water and vinegar and let stand overnight. To clean a hardened paint brush, let it simmer in boiling water and rinse in very hot soapy water. Wipe your oven frequently with vinegar, that will help prevent a buildup of grease, making cleaning much easier. Adding a little vinegar to the water will make cleaning your car easier and make it shine. When seats in cane chairs start to sag use a solution of half water and half vinegar. Heat solution until hot, then sponge the seats and place outdoors in the sun to dry. Add a little vinegar to the water when mopping tile floors. It will make them shine and also act as a deodorant and prevent mold and mildew. In the kitchen and the preparing of foods, there are many uses as well: Rinse your fruits and vegetables in a solution of vinegar and water before eating or preparing the food for cooking. Make a better piecrust by adding 1 tablespoon of vinegar to recipe. The crust will be flakier. Add a little vinegar when boiling eggs. If there are cracks in the egg, it will prevent the whites from leaking out. Add a teaspoon of vinegar when poaching eggs to prevent separation. When canning or preserving foods, wipe the jars with vinegar. That will prevent the buildup of mold producing bacteria. To improve the taste of fish when cooking, rinse in a solution of vinegar and water. Much of the fishy taste and odor will be removed. A spoon full of vinegar added to the water when cooking cauliflower will make it whiter, and when cooking green vegetables, it will make them greener. Adding a tablespoon of vinegar to gelatin will make it firmer. Add a 1/8 to ¼ cup of cider vinegar when soaking beans to remove the gas from the beans. Cabbage odor can be removed when cooking cabbage by adding some vinegar to the water. To prevent mold from the end of an uncooked ham, just rub some vinegar on it. To make a real fluffy meringue, add one teaspoon of vinegar to 3 egg whites. Adding vinegar to the water when boiling a ham will remove the salty taste and improve the flavor. New Englanders put vinegar on their French fries. It is also used that way in the UK. In health related issues, vinegar has many applications. Some such uses are: For skin burns apply ice-cold vinegar immediately. Use cold compresses by soaking a cloth in vinegar. Using these compresses 3 or 4 times daily. Doing this can prevent blisters from forming. Add 1/2 cup of vinegar to water in a plastic pan. Use to soak your feet to soften calluses. Makes trimming toenails and cuticles much easier. Add 2 cups of cider vinegar to a hot tub. Makes an excellent soak for muscle soreness. This reduces the soreness by adding potassium to the muscles. One of the best uses is making solution of half vinegar and half water, this basically is a solution that could be bought commercially, and was called “Burrow’s Solution”. It is an excellent solution to reduce the swelling and inflammation of a sprained ankle, by applying a cold compress. Use it also for any other injury that causes pain, swelling, and inflammation. The versatility of vinegar makes it practically mandatory that all households have a bottle of white, and a bottle of apple cider vinegar in the pantry. And you needn’t worry about it becoming outdated or spoiling. It doesn’t spoil and can be kept indefinitely.

She was over recently for coffee and smelled the bleach I was using to clean my toilet and counter tops. This is what she told me. 'I would like to tell you of the benefits of that Plain little ole bottle of 3% peroxide you can get for under $1.00 at any drug store. What does bleach cost? 

My husband has been in the medical field for over 36 years, And most doctors don't tell you about peroxide. Have you Ever smelled bleach in a doctor's office? NO!!! 

Why? because it smells, and it is not healthy! Ask the nurses who work in the doctor's offices, and ask them if they use bleach at home. They are wiser and know better! 

Did you also know bleach was invented in the late 40's? It's chlorine, folks! And it was used to kill our Troops. Peroxide was invented during WWI in the 20's. It was used to save and help cleanse the needs of our troops and hospitals. 

Please think about this: 

1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and 
hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe.) No more canker sores, and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash. 

2. Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of peroxide to keep them free of germs. 

3. Clean your counters and table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters. 

4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria. 

5. I had fungus on my feet for years until I sprayed a 
50/50 mixture of peroxide and water on them(especially the toes) every night and let dry. 

6. Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. My husband has seen gangrene that would not heal with any medicine but was healed by soaking in peroxide. 

7. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and Water and keep it in every bathroom to 
disinfect without Harming your septic system like bleach or most other Disinfectants will. 

8. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, plugged sinus. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes, and then blow your nose 
into a tissue. 

9. If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly. 

10. And of course, if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the 50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through. You will not have the peroxide-burnt blonde hair like the hair dye packages but more natural highlights if your hair is a light brown, reddish, or dirty blonde. 
It also lightens gradually, so it's not a drastic change. 

11. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help get rid of boils, fungus, or other skin infections. 

12. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, pour it directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary. 

13. I use peroxide to clean my mirrors. There is no smearing, which is why I love it so much for this. 

14. Another place it's great is in the bathroom, if someone has been careless & has peed on the floor around the toilet & it's begun to smell of urine. Just put some peroxide in a spray bottle & spray. In the blink of any eye all the smell will be gone & the bacteria eliminated! 

I could go on and on. It is a little brown bottle no home should be without! 
With prices of most necessities rising, I'm glad there's a way to save tons of money in such a simple, healthy manner! ' This information really woke me up. I hope you gain something from it, too.

He's the love of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way. Born three months premature, weighing only one pound & ten ounces with water on the brain, fluid in the lungs, three holes in his heart,kidney stones and a double hernia. Autism doesn't stand a chance up against this little warrior.

Although I was a young mother I always knew
he'd be different from my other children. By seven months, he wasn't cooing or following me with his eyes and would hardly ever cry. I continuously took him back and forth to the pediatric clinic with my concerns. They'd brush me off by saying "all children are different, he'll catch up soon". I wouldn't take "NO" for an answer. I knew my son was more than delayed. By age one, he was still in a baby carrier and was a long way from walking and talking. The quest for
answers became an urgency and my first priority in my life.

As a self-employed hair stylist, I chose not to send him to a daycare, due to him being attached to a heart monitor. Most of the providers were frightened by the presence of the machine. Therefore, I began using home made remedies. Every day, I'd make it a habit to sit him in front of the television to watch Telly Tubbies and Sesame Street. I brought him toys that were verbal or colorful; such as See-N-Says, Simon Says, V-Tech, computers and Leap Frogs. I got a head start on educating him and was NOT going to wait on any educational system to back me. I was ready for what was to come in the near future.

By age two, he was diagnosed with Autism and the first form of treatment offered to me was a pharmaceutical medication called Ritalin. My question to the doctors, "if there's no cure, why the drugs". Silence... I brought my baby back home and continued on my never ending quest to educate him by any means necessary; WITHOUT drugs. My home was filled with words, music and love. The rest is history in the making; as we are currently working on our joint project titled, "ANTONIO AND AUTISM ALIVE". A book of poems written by myself, photos of Antonio from birth to now, and artwork from Antonio Canady Jr.

My motto: "The CURE for Autism is LOVE!"

Second death reported AFTER crib recall (PLEASE RT)

Moms, please make sure you do not have one of these cribs. It was recalled in 2008 but, in 2009, a 7 month old girl was killed when she suffocated inside the crib that had been purchased second hand. This brings up a good point: when you buy children's items at yard sales or Craigslist, make sure you check the recalls on www.cpsc.gov.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Delta Enterprise Corp., of New York, N.Y. are re-announcing the 2008 recall of more than 985,000 drop-side cribs with "Crib Trigger Lock and Safety Peg" hardware. In January 2011, CPSC and Delta learned of a 2009 death in which 7-month-old girl from Colorado Springs, Colo. became entrapped and suffocated between the detached drop-side and mattress of her recalled crib. The crib was purchased secondhand and re-assembled without safety pegs in the bottom tracks.

Missing safety pegs can create a situation where the crib's drop-side rail disengages from the track. This can create a hazardous space in which an infant can become entrapped and suffocate.

At the time of the October 2008 recall, CPSC notified consumers about the death of an 8-month-old girl who became entrapped and suffocated when the drop side of the crib detached. The crib involved in this incident also was re-assembled without safety pegs. At the time of the October 2008 recall announcement, there were reports of two entrapments and nine detachments in cribs without safety pegs.

"Buying or accepting cribs second hand can be risky," said CPSC Chairman Inez Tenenbaum. "Second hand cribs may not come with all of the necessary parts that are needed to make sure your baby is safe. We urge parents and caregivers to use caution and to be aware that new rules established by CPSC will bring safer cribs to the market this summer."

This re-announcement involves cribs that were made in Taiwan and Indonesia. The cribs were sold at major retail stores including Kmart, Target and Walmart between January 1995 and December 2005 (through September 2007 for model 4624) for about $100.

Delta's name and address is printed on the mattress support boards and the Delta logo is on the crib's top teether rail. Model numbers are located on the top of the mattress support board. This announcement includes the following 49 crib models with "Crib Trigger Lock with Safety Peg" drop-side hardware:

4320, 4340;
4500, 4520, 4530, 4532, 4540, 4542, 4550, 4551, 4580;
4600, 4620, 4624 - production dates 01/06 thru 11/07, 4640, 4660, 4720, 4735, 4742, 4750 - production dates 01/95 thru 12/00;
4760, 4770, 4780, 4790;
4820, 4840, 4850, 4860, 4880, 4890, 4892; and
4900, 4910, 4920, 4925-2, 4925-6, 4930, 4940, 4943, 4944, 4947, 4948, 4949, 4950, 4958, 4963, 4968, 4969, 4980.
CPSC urges parents and caregivers to immediately stop using cribs that are missing a safety peg on either leg of the drop side and contact Delta to receive a free, easy-to-install repair kit. Call Delta toll-free at (800) 816-5304 anytime or visit the firm's website at www.cribrecallcenter.com to order the free repair kit.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to find a safe, alternative sleep environment for their child until the repair kit, with new safety pegs, is safely installed on the recalled cribs.

Important Message from CPSC: CPSC reminds parents not to use any crib with missing, broken or loose parts. Make sure to tighten hardware from time to time to keep the crib sturdy. When using a drop-side crib, parents should check to make sure the drop side or any other moving part operates smoothly. Always check all sides and corners of the crib for parts separating that can create a gap and entrap a child. In addition, do not try to repair any side of the crib. Babies have died in cribs where repairs were attempted by caregivers. Crib age is a factor in safety. At a minimum, CPSC staff recommends that you do not use a crib that is older than 10 years old. New, mandatory federal crib rules take effect on June 28, 2011. All cribs manufactured and sold after that date must meet new and improved safety requirements. Older cribs do not meet the new standard and can have a variety of safety problems. Check if your crib has been recalled at http://www.cpsc.gov

Music w no cussing- great for parents to know

For those who DONT know, Walmart doesnt sell ANY songs or albums with any cuss words.

I didnt know this til about 2 years ago. I saw R.Kelly's album and decided to buy it for my boyfriend at the time. When we listened to it, allll the cuss words were BLANKED out. Thats when I was told that Walmart doesnt sell ANY songs, cds & albums that are not radio version. This was a great thing to know because I have kids.

So for my daughters' ipods & mp3 players, I only allow them to purchase it online from Walmart. They are restricted from getting it anywhere else LOL =)
